Initial the mixture contains 14x litres of milk and 3x litres of water from this we take 25.5 litres(17x-25.5) and add 2.5 litres of water and 5 litres of milk the resultant mixture is (17x -25.5 +7.5) now taking 25.5 litres from the initial mixture means taking out 3/17x25.5 litres of milk so we have taken out 4.5 litres of milk and added 2.5 litres of milk, the resultant mixture contains 3x-4.5+2.5 litres of milk which is equal to 20 percent of (17x-25.5+7.5) of the new mixture now solving this we get the value of x (((17x-25.5 +7.5)x(20/100))=(3x-4.5+2.5))==>x=4 the ;hence the initial quantity of mixture is 17x4=68
