Intial ratio Petrol to kerosene = 82:18 = 41:9

let vessel hold x litre

petrol = 41x/50
kerosene = 9x/50

now 8 litre mixture removed & replace by 8 litre petrol

petrol in 8 litre = 8*41/50

kerosene in 8litre = 8*9/50

final petrol = 41x/50 -8*41/50 +8 = 41x-328+400/50 = 41x+72/50

final kerosene = 9x /50 -8*9/50 = 9x-72/50

final kero sene = 15%of x = 15x/100(given)

9x-72/50 = 15x/100

18x-144= 15x

3x = 144
x = 48 liters
