Answer:

John pays 56 dollars.

Sale price was $70,which was 30% less of $100.

Then subtract extra discount of 20% of $70

Final price %56

Answer:

First, find what 30% of the initial price is…

$100 * 30% is the same as 100 * 0.3 = 30.00

100 (initial cost) - 30 = 70.00 (cost to the general public)

Now, the question says that John gets an additional 20% off the sale price (not the original price) so let’s find out what 20% of the sale price is…

70.00 * 20% or 70.00 * 0.2 = 14.00

70 - 14 = 56.00 and there you go. Had John’s 20% discount been off of the list price, then the DVD would have cost him only $50.00

Hope it helps you friend :D
