Capacity of a rectangular tank = lbh

Given

l = 20m

b = 15m

h = 6m

capacity= 20m×15m×6m = 1800 cubic metres

1 metre = 100 cm

then 1800 metres = 1800×100 = 1,80,000 cm

1000 cubic cm = 1 litre

then 180000cm = 180000/1000 = 180 litres

Water Requirement Per day = 150 litres

No.of days the water tank will last for =

180/150 = 1.2 days

Answer: 3 days

Step by step explanation:

Given,

Quantity of water in tank = (20 ×15×6) = 1800m³

Population of village = 4000

Water required = 150/per head per day

Quantity of water required by the village per day:

                                   = ( 4000 × 150) liters

                                   = 4000×150 ÷ 1000 m³

                                   =  600 m³

No. of days which the water will last

                                  = 1800÷600

                                  = 3 days

Explanation:

This question can be solved by 2 methods, I have solved this question in very simple way. In this question, There was the Given population and water requires per day.

And, There were a tank, which was wearing of 20 meters, 15 meters and 6 meters. We First find, Quantity of water in tank = (20 ×15×6) = 1800m³.

Then, We find Quantity of water required by the village per day.

= ( 4000 × 150) liters

= 4000×150 ÷ 1000 m³

= 600 m³.

And, Finally we divide it with 600 with 1800. And, we get 3 days.
