Let the initial number of goats be: 100%

After the first loss: (100–12)= 88%

After the second loss: 5% of 88%; the remaining becomes: 83.6%

Now, 83.6 ——-> 8360 (percentage to number comparison)

then, 1———-> 100 (one percent of goats is about 100 in number)

Therefore: 100% becomes: 100 x 100: 10,000 Goats.

Let goats before flood = x

12%lost: 100–12=88

Remained goats=88x/100

5% lost on remaining: 100–5=95

Remained goat : (88x /100)*95/100

Remained goat (left) =8360

(88x/100)*95/100 = 8360

X =(8360)(100/88)(100/95)

X= 83600000/8360

X = 10000

No. Of goats before flood = 10000
