A virtual image of magnification ½ of a real object can be produced by CONVEX MIRROR.

But how ?

  • We know that convex mirrors are diverging mirrors (i.e. they diverge light rays away from each other).

  • Now, irrespective of the position of the real object, convex mirrors always produce image with the same characteristics properties.

So, the image characteristics are :

  1. Image is virtual.
  2. Image is erect.
  3. Image is diminished (i.e. magnification < 1).

\star Hope It Helps.
