A virtual image of magnification ½ of a real object can be produced by CONVEX MIRROR.
But how ?
- We know that convex mirrors are diverging mirrors (i.e. they diverge light rays away from each other).
- Now, irrespective of the position of the real object, convex mirrors always produce image with the same characteristics properties.
So, the image characteristics are :
- Image is virtual.
- Image is erect.
- Image is diminished (i.e. magnification < 1).
