When I visited the Ramdayal Academy in one of the remotest villages in Uttar Pradesh, I was stunned by the discrepancy. Due to shortage of food in the household, many students were sent to school for mid day meals. Apart from this, there was also a need to generate awareness among female students about sanitation, napkin distribution and stopping early marriage in their household. Several discussions were also done with the class teachers.
