Volcanoes which are not expected to erupt again is known as Extinct Volcanoes.
A volcano is considered to be extinct because the scientist declare them so as they no more have a source to supply magma to it. However it is very difficult to consider a volcano as a extinct volcano. Supervolcano calderas have elective lifespan upto millions of years and even a caldera which has not erupted in tens of thousand of years is also considered dormant and not extinct as they still has a possibility to erupt. Some of the examples of extinct volcanoes are as follows:- Hawaiin Emperor seamount Chain in the Pacific ocean, Shiprock in New Mexico, Zuidwal volcano in Netherlands etc.
