According to the equation, number of moles required of oxygen are double of methane, thus volume of oxygen required will also be double of methane. Hence volume of oxygen required is 20ml.

Now the volume air is taken 50ml and 20ml of it is oxygen, we are also given with that only nitrogen and oxygen are the constituents of this air.

Thus, volume of nitrogen = 50 - volume of oxygen

volume of nitrogen = 50 - volume of oxygen = 50 - 20 = 30ml
