Solution :

Let r , h are Radius and height of

the cylinder ,

h = 8cm

Volume = 308 cm³

=> πr²h = 308

=> ( 22/7 ) × r² × 8 = 308

=> r² = ( 308 × 7)/(22×8)

=> r² = ( 7/2 )²

=> r = 7/2 = 3.5 cm

i ) CSA of a cylinder = 2πrh

= 2 × 22/7 × 3.5 × 8

= 176 cm²

ii ) TSA = 2πr( r + h )

= 2 × ( 22/7 ) × 3.5 ( 3.5 + 8 )

= 253 cm²
