Election is the best way to represent people's choice. If there's democracy then there should be election. Thats why election/voting is a life line of democracy.

Democracy is defined as “by the people, for the people, and of the people”.  It is clearly deciphered that people plays the main part in establishing and continuing with democracy.

People speaks of their mind by casting vote and that is why people who can vote are called voters.  The decision of the voters reflect in election and that is why a voter is called the life line of democracy.
