Given:

Total amount= Rs 4080

Denominations of 10, 20, 50, and 100 in the ratio of 1:3:5:7

To find:

The amount of money that the 20 and 50 rupee notes sum up together

Solution:

The ratio is 1:3:5:7 so we can write the number of 10, 20, 50, and 100 notes as x, 3x, 5x, and 7x respectively

Now equating the amount/values-

10x + 20*3x + 50*5x + 100*7x = 4080

So, 10x + 60x + 250x + 700x = 4080

So, 1020x = 4080

So, x= 4

So, the number of 10, 20, 50, and 100 notes are 4, 12, 20 and 28

Number of 20 rupee notes= 12

So, the value of the notes= 12*20 = Rs 240

Number of 50 rupee notes= 20

So, the value of the notes= 20*50 = Rs 1000

So, the total value of these two notes is Rs 1000+240 = Rs 1240

The 20 and 50 rupee notes sum up together to a total amount of Rs 1240.
