A wallet contains Rs. 4080 in notes in denominations of Rs. 10 , Rs . 20 , Rs. 50 , Rs. 100 . The denominations are in the ratio of 1 : 3 : 5 : 7 respectively . How much money do the 20 and 50 rupees notes sum up together ?

Answer :-

Given :-

A wallet contains Rs. 4080 in notes in denominations of Rs. 10 , Rs . 20 , Rs. 50 , Rs. 100 . The denominations are in the ratio of 1 : 3 : 5 : 7 respectively .

Required to find :-

  • How much money do the 20 and 50 rupees notes sum up together ?

Solution :-

Given information :-

A wallet contains Rs. 4080 in notes in denominations of Rs. 10 , Rs . 20 , Rs. 50 , Rs. 100 . The denominations are in the ratio of 1 : 3 : 5 : 7 respectively .

We need to find the how much money do the 20 and 50 rupees notes sum up together .

So,

Consider the given ratio ;

Ratio = 1 : 3 : 5 : 7

Let,

  • No. of 10 rupee notes = 1 ( x ) = 1x

  • No. of 20 rupee notes = 3 ( x ) = 3x

  • No. of 50 rupee notes = 5 ( x ) = 5x

  • No. of 100 rupee notes = 7 ( x ) = 7x

Now,

Let's find the value of these notes ;

Value of 10 rupee notes =

=> 10 ( x )

=> 10x

Value of 20 rupee notes =

=> 20 ( 3x )

=> 60x

Value of 50 rupee notes =

=> 50 ( 5x )

=> 250x

Value of 100 rupee notes =

=> 100 ( 7x )

=> 700x

Hence,

  • Value of 10 rupee notes = 10x

  • Value of 20 rupee notes = 60x

  • Value of 50 rupee notes = 250x

  • Value of 100 rupee notes = 700x

However,

  • Total value = Rs. 4080

According to problem ;

sum of the values of 10 , 20 , 50 & 100 rupee notes = Total value

This implies ;

10x + 60x + 250x + 700x = 4080

1020x = 4080

x = 4080/1020

x = 408/102

x = 204/51

x = 4

Hence,

Value of x is 4

Now,

Let's find the value of 20 & 50 rupee notes respectively ;

Value of 20 rupee notes = 60x = 60(4) = Rs. 240

Value of 50 rupee notes = 250x = 250(4) = Rs. 1000

Sum of the values of 20 & 50 rupee notes = ?

=> 240 + 1000

=> Rs. 1240

Therefore,

Money do the 20 and 50 rupees notes sum up together = Rs. 1240

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\green{Answer:-}}}}

➡ The sum of 20 & 50 rupee note is Rs. 1240.

\mathcal{\huge{\fbox{\purple{Solution:-}}}}

Given :-

A wallet contains Rs. 4080 in notes in denominations

Rs. 10 : Rs . 20 : Rs. 50 : Rs. 100 = 1 : 3 : 5 : 7

To Find :-

The sum of 20 & 50 rupee.

Calculation :-

A wallet contains Rs. 4080 in notes in denominations of Rs. 10 , Rs . 20 , Rs. 50 , Rs. 100 . The denominations are in the ratio of 1 : 3 : 5 : 7 respectively .

We need to find the how much money do the 20 and 50 rupees notes sum up together .

So,

Consider the given ratio ;

Ratio = 1 : 3 : 5 : 7

Let,

↗No. of 10 rupee notes = 1x

↗No. of 20 rupee notes = 3x

↗No. of 50 rupee notes = 5x

↗No. of 100 rupee notes = 7x

Now,

Let's find the value of these notes ;

  • 10 rupee notes =

=> 10x

  • 20 rupee notes =

=> 20 × 3x

=> 60x

  • 50 rupee notes =

=> 50 × 5x

=> 250x

  • 100 rupee notes =

=> 100 × 7x

=> 700x

Hence,

Value of 10 rupee notes = 10x

Value of 20 rupee notes = 60x

Value of 50 rupee notes = 250x

Value of 100 rupee notes = 700x

However,

▶Total value = Rs. 4080

According to problem ;

▶sum of the values of 10 , 20 , 50 & 100 rupee notes = Total value

This implies ;

10x + 60x + 250x + 700x = 4080

▶1020x = 4080

▶x = 4080/1020

▶x = 408/102

▶x = 204/51

▶x = 4

Hence,

✏ Value of 10 rupee notes = 10x = 10×4 =40...(1)

✏ Value of 20 rupee notes = 60x= 60×4 = 2400......(2)

✏ Value of 50 rupee notes = 250x= 250×4=1000....(3)

✏ Value of 100 rupee notes = 700x= 700×4 = 2800........(4)

Sum of the values of 20 & 50 rupee notes =

Adding, (2 + 3)

=> 240 + 1000

=> Rs. 1240
