Answer:

let no of 2 ruppee coins be x

and no of 5 ruppee coins be y

therefore 2x + 5y = 70 -------(1)

as the no of 2 rupee coins is equal to the no of 5 ruppee coins

therefore x = y

substituting this in eq (1)

2x + 5x = 70

7x = 70

therefore x=10

and y = 10

therefore total no of coins is no of 2 ruppee coins + the no of 5 ruppee coins

total no of coins are x + y

=10+10

= 20
