A warehouse worker uses a forklift to raise a crate of pickles on a platform to a height 2.75 m above the floor. The combined mass of the platform and the crate is 207 kg. If the power expended by the forklift is 1440 w, how long does it take to lift the crate?Can you please show me how to work out this problem and the answer? Thank you

Answer:

The time required is 3.874 seconds

Explanation:

The height at which the platform of the crate of pickles raise is h=2.75 m

Th combined mass of the crate and pickle is m=207 kg

The power used to raise the platform is P=1440 W

Let the time taken is t

We know that power P is,

P=\dfrac{W}{t}

We know that the work done is equal to the change in energy E of the pickle and crate system

So W=E=mgh

Hence,

P=\dfrac{E}{t}\\t=\dfrac{E}{P}\\t=\dfrac{mgh}{P}\\t=\dfrac{207\times 2.75\times 9.8}{1440}\\t=3.874\ s
