A was twice as old as B, two years ago. If the difference in their ages be 2 years, find A's age.

Let, the age of A and B are x and y respectively now.

Then,
x - 2 = 2 (y - 2)
or, x - 2y = -2 .....(i)

x - y = 2 .....(ii)

(ii) - (i) =>
y = 4

So, x = 6

So the present age of A and B are 6 years and 4 years respectively.
