  • As per the data given in the question, we have to find the value of the expression.

Given data:- A watch is sold for Rs.\ 405.

To find:- Cost price of the watch.

             Solution:-

  • We know that the Cost price is the original price of the item.
  • Selling price (excluding tax) fewer cost results in the profit in money terms.
  • The Formula of Cost price,
  • \text { C. } P .=\frac{\text { S.P. } \times 100}{100-\text { Loss }}.

       Therefore,

              \text { C. } P .=\frac{\text { S.P. } \times 100}{100-\text { Loss }}\\=\frac{485 \times 100}{100-10}\\=\frac{405 \times 100}{90}\\=\text { Rs } 450.

Hence we will get the cost price of the watch is Rs.\ 450.
