The first pay for the watch  is Rs. 128

Step-by-step explanation:

A watch passes through three hands and each gain 25%

let the first pay = x

The S.P of first person = C.P of second person =  x+ 25% of x

= x(1+\frac{25}{100})

= \frac{100+25}{100}

= (\frac{125}{100} )x

= 1.25x

The S.P of second person = C.P of third  person

= 1.25\times 1.25x

S.P of third person = 1.25\times1.25\times1.25x

1.25\times1.25\times1.25x=250

(1.953125)x=250

x= 128

hence, option (a) is correct

The first pay for the watch  is Rs. 128
