Answer:

here, 18L = 18000cm^3

and, Let the breadth be B

length = 20m = 2000cm

height = 15cm

Now,

Volume of cuboidal shaped pipe = L* B* H

18000cm^3 = (2000*15)cm^2 *B

18000cm^3 =30000cm^2 *B

18000cm^3/30000cm^2 = B

0.6cm = B

Hence the breadth of the water body is 0.6cm

Answer:

given

length of reservoir = 20 cm .

volume of water removed from the reserviour = 18kl = 18 cu.m.

water level goes down by 15 cm = 15/100m = 0.15m.

let breadth of reservoir = BM.

so, volume of empty reserviour = volume of water removed.

therefore 20 ×b× 0.15= 18

b = 18/20×0.15

b = 18/3

b= 6

so , width of the reservoir is 6m.
