A water reservoir made of steel is 3 m long , 2.8m wide and 2.6m high . If the steel is 5 cm thick all around , find the volume of the reservoir .

Answer:

Vol. of reservoir = Internal vol. of reservoir

Internal length of reservoir = 3m - (5/100m + 5/100m)

= 3m - 0.10m

= 2.90m

Similarly,

Breadth = 2.8 m - 0.10 m

= 2.70m

Height = 2.6 m - 0.10 m

= 2.50 m

And the vol. = L ×B × H

=2.90 ×2.70 × 2.50 m^3

=19.275 m^3
