Let & be the amount of water it can hold at

full capacity.

Therefore the amount of water at half capacity = 1/2 X

The amount of water at one-fifth capacity =

1/5 X

From question,

1/5X 1/2X12L =

1/5X = (X-24L)/2

2X5X-120L

3X 120L =

X = 40L

Therefore the amount of water it can hold at full capacity = 40L
