Step-by-step explanation:

1/5 water tank is full

let's it 1x/5

if we take 16 liters it be 1/6 let it 1x/6

now eq is 1x/5-16=1x/6

1x-80/5=1x/6

6(1x-80)=5(1x)

6x-480=5x

6x-5x=480

x=480

now x/5=480/5

capacity 480×5=2400 liters

The capacity of the water tank is 480 liters

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the capacity of tank be x

Level of tank =\frac{1}{5}x

After drawing of 16 litre it is just 1/6 full

So, Level of water now = \frac{1}{6}x

\frac{1}{5}x-16=\frac{1}{6}x

\frac{1}{5}x-\frac{1}{6}x=16

\frac{x}{30}=16

x=16 \times 30

x=480

Hence the capacity of the water tank is 480 liters
