Given : A water tank is formed with the combination of cylinder and hemisphere. The total height of the tank is 20 m and base area is 154 m²

the tank is filled with water at the rate of 45 paisa per litre

To Find :  total cost to fill the water?

Solution:

base area is 154 m²

=> πr² = 154

=> (22/7)r² = 154

=> r² = 7²

=> r = 7

radius = 7  m

Total Height = 20 m

Height of cylinder = 20 - 7 = 13 m

Volume of cylinder =  πr²h

= 154 * 13

= 2,002 m³

Volume of hemisphere = (2/3)πr³

= (2/3)(22/7)7³

= 718.67 m³

Total Volume =  2,002 +  718.67

= 2,720.67 m³

1 m³ = 1000 litre

Water =  2,720.67 * 1000   litre

rate of 45 paisa per litre

Cost =  2,720.67 * 1000 * 45/100

=> Cost = 12,24,300.15  Rs

approx 12,24,300  Rs

total cost to fill the water Rs 12,24,300
