A watermelon weighs 8.5 kgs. it contains 70% water by weight. however, once left to dry in the hot sun for 3 days, it loses 75% of its water content (by weight). what is the water content (by weight) percentage in the watermelon after it has been dried in sun for 3 days?

Solution:

                   Weight of water in Kg =70*8.5/100 =5.95

                   Now 75%of 5.95 kg is lost.

                   Therefore weight of water remaining    is 25%

                   so, 25% of 5.95 is

                   25*5.95/100= 1.4875
