A wave of frequency 500 Hz is travelling with a speed of 350 m/s.

i. What is the phase difference between two displacements at a certain point at times 1.0 ms apart?
ii. What will be the smallest distance between two points which are 45° out of phase at an

Answer:

A progressive wave of frequency 500 Hz is travelling with a velocity of 360 m/s.

At 60°

We known that for a wave v = fλ

v=360 & f=500

then  λ=0.72m

Now as in a wave path difference is related to phase difference by the relation.

phase diffrence = 60 degree= π/180*60= (π3)rad

then path diffrence is 0.72/2π*π/3===0.12m ANSWER
