The standard equation for a progressive wave is,

y = A sin(ωt - kx)

where,

y = Vertical displacement

A = Amplitude

ω = Angular frequency

t = Time at which the vertical displacement y is attained.

k = Propagation constant (k = 2π / wavelength)

x = Horizontal displacement \quad

On comparing our equation y = 10 sin(kx - 100t) with the standard one, we get the amplitude,

A = 10 m
