- A wave, propagating along a string, is described by the equation y(x, t) = 0.04
sin(40x - 5t) in which the numerical constants are in their respective S.I. units.
Calculate the
(a) wavelength
(c) frequency of the wave
(b) time period ​

Explanation: the equation is actually of the form

                      y = A sin(ωt - k x) comparing ,

                wavelength = 2π/k = 2π/40 = π/10

                 frequency = ω/2π = 5/2π

                time period = 2π/ω = 2π/5
