Given:-

  • Speed of wave,S = 330m/s

  • Wavelength , λ = 2.2 cm

To Find:-

  • Frequency of the wave ,f

Solution:-

As we know that

•S = fλ

Substitute the value we get

→ 330 = f×2.2

→ f = 330/2.2

→ f = 150 Hz

Therefore, the frequency of the wave is 150 Hertz.

Additional Information !!

  • A Periodic variation in the value of quantity between a maximum value and minimum value is called oscillation.

  • Sound is a form of energy which provides us sensation of hearing.

  • The minimum distance of after which the state of disturbance is repeated in wave motion is called the wavelength of the wave.

  • The time taken to complete one oscillation of the density of the medium is called the time period of the sound.
