Dissociation constant, for an acid ,Kₐ

K_{a} = \frac{C \alpha^2}{1- \alpha}

C= concentration

α = dissociation constant

α = 0.0005

Since, α is very small, i.e. nearly equal to 1,  (1-α) can be neglected.

K_{a} = {C \alpha^2}\\\\

Kₐ = 0.2 x ( 0.0005)²

≈ 25 × 10⁻⁸ x 0.2

≈ 5 x 10⁻⁸

(For more accurate answer, you can use 1-0.0005, in which case the answer will be : 5.0025 x 10⁻⁸)
