A Brief Report of Awareness Programme on HIV/AIDS among Students of Red Ribbon Club Unit at Dasaratha Deb Memorial College, Khowai

Awareness Programme on Prevention of HIV/AIDS was organized by Red Ribbon Club (RRC) Unit, Dasaratha Deb Memorial College (DDMC), Khowai and was all supported by Tripura State AIDS Control Society (TSACS) held on 6th January, 2017 at the College Seminar Hall.

The welcome speech was given by Dr. Manidipa Dasgupta, Assistant Professor & NSS Programme Officer, DDMC, Khowai. Thereafter, Sri Saurab Sarkar, Assistant Director (Youth Affairs), TSACS delivered a lecture among the students and made them aware on HIV/AIDS issues and also shared the concept of RRC, its objectives and strengthening of RRC unit through a power-point presentation & Life Skill promotion and also has shown some jingles and photographs. After the lecture of AD (YA), TSACS, students took part in an interaction & cleared their misconception eg. ‘mosquito bite cannot spread HIV’, ‘close kiss cannot spread HIV’, ‘sharing cloths cannot spread HIV’ etc. The queries were answered by the speaker. The concluding speech was given by Dr. Sankar Bhattacharjee, Principal, DDMC, Khowai.
