forces acting at A and B are 2N and 4N in upward direction.

So resistive force = 2+4 = 6N And it should act in downward direction.

Let it acts at a distance L.from B

For equilibrium, total moment should be 0. find moment around point B.

moment = 2×3 - 6×L + 4×0 = 0

=> 6 - 6L = 0

=> L = 1m

Distance of the force from end B is 1m

Answer is D. BD = 1m
