depth of well(h) = 14m
radius of well(r) = 2m

Inner surface area of well(like a cylinder) = 2πrh

surface area= 2×22/7 × 2×14 = 176 m2

cost of cementing = ₹2 per m2

total Cost = 176×2 = ₹352

Hi,

We know that a well is in th e form of a cylinder.
Here, we have to cement the inner curved surface area. So, we will use curved surface area of cylinder formula.

CSA of Cylinder = 2πrh
                          = 2 X 22/7 X 14 X 2
                          = 2 X 22 X 2 X 2
                          = 176 m².

Hence, the curved surface area is 176 m².

The cost of cementing is Rs. 2/m².
So, cost of cementing 176 m² area is
= 176 X 2
= Rs. 352

Hence, the cost of cementing the inner curved surface at the rate of ₹2per sq.m. is Rs. 352.
