A well with a brick parapet around it has a diameter 210cm. If the length of the outer edge of the parapet is 880cm, them find the width of the parapet.​

Given, the diameter of the well (d) = 210cm.

Let radius and diameter of the parapet is R and D respectively.

Sine, length of the outer edge of the parapet = 880 cm.

Therefore,

2πR = 880cm

2R = 880 / π = (880 x 7 )/22 = 280 cm

D = 210 cm.

Now, width of the parapet = ( diameter of parapet - diameter of the well)/2 = (280-210)/2 = ( 70)/2 = 35cm

Hence, width of the parapet is 35 cm.
