A WET HANKY IS PLACED ON THE FOREHEAD OF A PERSON SUFFERING FROM FEVER BECAUSE WATER WILL ABSORB THE LATENT HEAT FROM THE SKIN RESULTING IN THE LOWERING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE BODY.

Explanation:

During fever, the temperature of human body increases from normal body temperature which is 98.4 degree celsius.

Therefore, in order to bring the temperature of body back to its normal temperature a wet hanky is placed on the forehead which absorbs heat from the body and in return helps in cooling of the body.

As a result, temperature of body decreases and thus patient gets relief from fever.
