(a) What are magnetic field lines ? How is the direction of magnetic field at a point

in a magnetic field determined using field lines ?

(b) Two circular coils ‘X’ and ‘Y’ are placed close to each other. If the current in

the coil ‘X’ is changed, will some current be induced in the coil ‘Y’ ? Give

reason.

(c) State ‘Fleming’s right hand rule”.

Magnetic field is a quantity that has both direction and magnitude.
The direction of a magnetic field is taken to be the direction in which the north pole of the compass needle moves inside it. Therefore it is taken by convention that the field lines emerge at the north pole and merge at the south pole. Inside the magnet the direction of magnetic field lines is from its south pole to its north pole

a) Magnetic field lines are imaginary lines which forms if an object gains magnetism in it..
Magnetic field lines moves out from North pole of a Magnetic nd enters from south pole... so we can easily know the direction of field lines..
b) yes.. due to magnetism
field lines will cause this change.
c) according to it.. place your forefinger thumb nd center finger perpendicular to each other.. put thumb in the direction of motion of conductor.. forefinger in direction of magnetic field ; then where the center finger points will give u the direction of induced current.
