  • The word 'ACID' is derived from the latin word 'ACIDUS' Which means 'SOUR' . The sour taste of many food items is due to the presence of some acids in them that are called organic acids.

List of some organic Acids or naturally occurring acids ⟶

  1. Vinegar ⟶ Acetic Acid.
  2. Orange ⟶Citric acid.
  3. Tamarind ⟶Tartaric Acid
  4. Tomato ⟶Oxalic acid.
  5. Curd ⟶ Lactic Acid
  6. Olive oil ⟶ Olecic Acid

  1. Malic Acid which we get from Apples.
  2. Butyric acid which we get from Rancid butter.
