When the clamp is removed:

  • The car could be clamped for a variety of reasons: Parking in a public parking lot incorrectly, the vehicle is not taxed and is being driven on a public highway.
  • A wheel clamp of an automobile is a mechanism that restricts the vehicle from moving. It's usually a clamp that extends an all-around wheel. This immobilises the vehicle and prevents it, as well as the tire, from being removed.
  • If the car is uncollected tax & on a public highway, this could be clamped or removed & impounded. The car should not be on the road even if you have received the appropriate SORN notification.
  • Clamping is also used by debt collection organisations, and it is legal for them to do so in order to collect owing cash. If a bailiff clamps your automobile, they must place a notice on your car informing you that it has been immobilised. The date and time the vehicle was clamped are also mentioned. It should also explain why the vehicle has just been clamped.
