a.A satellite is an object that moves around a larger object. Earth is a satellite because it moves around the sun. The moon is a satellite because it moves around Earth. Earth and the moon are called "natural" satellites. The orbital speed can be found using v = SQRT(G*M/R). The R value (radius of orbit) is the earth's radius plus the height above the earth - in this case, 6.59 x 10^6m.

b.A geostationary orbit, also referred to as a geosynchronous equatorial orbit, is a circular geosynchronous orbit 35,786 kilometres above Earth's equator and following the direction of Earth's rotation.

conditions:-

Its orbit must lie on an equatorial plane.

It must appear stationary when viewed from a point on earth which means its time period of revolution is 24hrs.

Its height above the surface of the earth must be 36000km
