Answer:

(a) Biomass is plant or animal material used for energy production (electricity or heat), or in various industrial processes as raw material for a range of products. It can be purposely grown energy crops (e.g. miscanthus, switchgrass), wood or forest residues, waste from food crops (wheat straw, bagasse), horticulture (yard waste), food processing (corn cobs), animal farming (manure, rich in nitrogen and phosphorus), or human waste from sewage plants.  Through out the entire process, large organic polymers that make up Biomass are broken down into smaller molecules by chemicals and microorganisms. Upon completion of anaerobic digestion process, the Biomass is converted into Bio gas, namely carbon dioxide and methane,as well as digestate and waste water.

(b)Biogas comprises primarily methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and may have small amounts of hydrogen sulphide (H2S), moisture and siloxanes.

(c)Biogas is considered an ideal fuel because of the following reasons: (i) Biogas does not cause air pollution as the combustion process is smoke free. (ii) Biogas produces a large amount of heat per unit mass and thus has high calorific value. (iii) Biogas does not leave any residue on burning and is thus a clean fuel.

Answer:

biomass :

the waste from the cows are added in a pit dug and is left for many days by covering it.so due to this bacteria are allowed to grow,so this helps in producing gaseous fuel which is taken through pipes into our kitchen's and used a fule

This is one of reusing the waste. The left over's in the pit can be put as manure for crops or plants.

This is an ideal fuel becoz it comes from the waste and its natural.
