(b) Yes, Inbreeding of cattle is carried with a purpose, but is not continued for

     many generations.

  • The diversity eliminated included undesirable genes for the traits you have selected to improve which was, purpose.
  • Today, limited number of animals in each breed serve as parents of highly influential sires in each generation.
