1) An acquired immunity is one that isn’t present in our bodies when we are born. An immunity takes time to build up within the body, antigens are introduced and the body produces cells to fight the illness/disease, over time immunity is built up and the body is protected from these conditions. An acquired immunity can develop from our mothers or vaccines.

2) The first feed a mother gives her baby is vital, it is called colostrum, this is a thick milk which has antibodies in it to help build immunity to illness/disease, the babies body then works to build its own immunity.
