Explanation:

The splitting up of white light into seven colours on passing through a transparent medium like a glass prism is called disperision of light

The raindrops act like small prisms. When sunlight enters and leaves these randrops, the various coulured rays in white light are refracted by different amounts due to which an arc of seven coulurs called ranbow is formed.

Answer to Part (a) Dispersion of white light is the splitting of white light into its constituent seven colours on passing through a transparent medium like glass prism.

Part(b) : Hypermetropia is the defect of an eye in which a person can see far away objects clearly but cannot see nearby objects clearly.

Explanation:

The splitting of white light takes place due to different refractive index of different components of white light.

A flat cornea is the main reason of cause of hypermetropia. Due to this the image of object is formed behind retina. It can be cured by concave lens.
