Malleable and Ductile property of material.

Explanation:

a)

Malleable Metals :- Material which can be converted into sheet by compression. Example : Copper, aluminium.

Ductile Metals :- Material which can be converted into wire by tensile force. Example : Copper, aluminium.

b) Example of material which have both property of ductile and malleable are copper, aluminium, silver and gold.

c) For converting iron metal to  make buckets, we need two property of iron metal which are malleable and ductile.

First for converting metal block into sheet, there are need of malleable property of metal.

Second for converting sheet into bucket shape is possible by drawing into die in shape of bucket. Here ductile property is need for iron to drawn into die.

d) Ductile property is need for copper to change into wire.

Copper is Ductile to Make Thin Wires

Explanation:

(a) Metals are malleable - can be hammered to form thin sheets. For example, gold & silver whereas which are ductile - can be stretched to form thin wires. Example, copper & aluminium.

(b) Gold and copper are both malleable as well as ductile.

(c) The property of Iron which makes it be produced into sheets is its Malleability

(d) The Property that makes Copper be used in thin wire making is Ductility.
