Answer:

He admitted his education was imperfect. He said that He was none the worse for having neglected exercise, He was still paying the penalty of another neglect. He did not know whence He got the notion that good handwriting was not a necessary part of education, but He retained it until He went to England. When later, especially in South Africa, He saw the beautiful handwriting of lawyers and young men born and educated in South Africa, He was ashamed of himself and repented of his neglect. He saw that bad handwriting should be regarded as a sign of an imperfect education. He tried later to improve mine, but it was too late. He could never repair the neglect of his youth and wanted every young man and woman to be warned by his example and understand that good handwriting is a necessary part of education.
