a) What pH do you expect for the following salt solutions and why?
NaCl. Cuso. , and Na2CO3


b) Alcohol and glucose also contain hydrogen but do not conduct electricity. Why?​

a)NaCl,CuSO4 and Na2CO3. CuSO4 is a salt of strong acid (H2SO4) and weak base [CU(OH)2]. Therefore, its solution is acidic with pH <7. Na2CO3 is a salt of strong base (NaOH) and weak acid (H2CO3).

b)Because when they dissolve in water they do not release hydrogen ions. and in case of alcohol and glucose no free ions are there, so only presence of H is not sufficient but presence of H⁺ i.e. free ion is sufficient to conduct electricity.
