(a) If we supply the external ATP to the cell, the concentration ATP will increase and signal given to mitochondria would stop the production of internal ATP.
(b)
When we place the cell into the detergent solution, the detergent solution works as emulsifying agent of lipids present in the plasma or cell membrane, and the cell membrane gets ruptured and cytoplasmic content is released out. Finally, we get dead cells.

We have Endoplasmic Reticulum which is the largest cell component consists of the power house mitochondria.
Explanation:
- Mitochondria the energy factory of the cells, produces adenosine triphosphate in sufficient of its own using the oxygen available within the cell. If we supply ATP to the cell externally, the cells might burst.
- Otherwise the ATP concentration will become high in amount. The high amount of ATP will emit high level of signal to mitochondria. Upon the high signal, mitochondria will stop further production of ATP, which will finally yield dead cells.
- If cells are kept into the detergent solutions, the solution will rupture the cell wall or plasma membrane which will lead to release of cytoplasmic content of the cells.
