A wheel, 14 centimetre in diameter, makes 3000 revolution per minute. Find its speed in metre per second.

Favaz003: 22 meter per second
Favaz003: 1 revolution is equal to circumference
Favaz003: 3000/60
Favaz003: 50 revolution in 1 second
Favaz003: 50 revolution is equal to 50 circumference
Favaz003: =50 × 2πr
Favaz003: = 50 × 2×22/7×7
Favaz003: =44 cm
Favaz003: ×50

3000 revolutions in 60 seconds (given)
=> 50 rev in 1 second

In each revolution, circumference covered = 2πr = 2 x 3.14 x 0.14 x 0.14 = 0.123088 metres

Speed = 50 x 0.123088
= 6.1544 m/s

Favaz003: Not 500
Favaz003: Thus the answer is 22
Favaz003: Anyway rated 5 star for attempting
drashti5: yah ..... correct
atd01: 3000 revolutions in 60 seconds (given)
=> 50 rev in 1 second

In each revolution, circumference covered = 2πr = 2 x 3.14 x 0.7 = 0.4396 metres

Speed = 50 x 0.4396
= 21.98 m/s
atd01: Yes, sorry
atd01: I have corrected it
atd01: But can't edit the answer
atd01: Thanks for helping out
drashti5: hmm...
