Number of revolutions made by the wheel in 1 minute = 360

∴Number of revolutions made by the wheel in 1 minute =360/60 = 6

In one complete revolution, the wheel turns an angle of 2π radian.

Hence, in 6 complete revolutions, it will turn an angle of 6 × 2π radian, i.e.,

12 π radian

Thus, in one second, the wheel turns an angle of 12π radian.

this is how to solve it : just substitute all the terms in your question to all the terms in my answer.

0.25π rad

Given

  • 450 revolutions per hour

To find

  • the number of radians through which it turns in one second

Solution

we are provided with the number of revolutions that a wheel make in a hour and are asked to find the radian in which it turns in 1 second.

Number of revolutions made in an hour = 450

So, number of revolutions made in a minute

= 450/60

or, 7.5

Number of revolutions made in a second = 7.5/60

or, 0.125

The angle in radian that the wheel covers during one revolution = 2π rad

Therefore the angle in Radian that the wheel covered in 0.125 revolution = 2π × 0.125

or, 0.25π rad
