Angular velocity will be  10π  or  31.4  radians/sec if a wheel of mass 6kg is rotating at 300rpm

Given:

  • A wheel of mass 6kg
  • Rotating at 300rpm

To Find:

  • Angular Velocity

Solution:

  • 1 revolution = 2π  radian  ( 360°)
  • 1 min = 60 secs

Step 1:

Calculate angle rotated in 1 min

300 x 2π

= 600π  radians

Step 2:

Divide by 1 min = 60 secs to find angular velocity

= 600π /60

= 10π  radians/sec

Step 3:

Substitute π = 3.14

=  10(3.14)

=  31.4  radians/sec

Hence, Angular velocity will be  10π  or  31.4  radians/sec
