A wheel weighing 5kg and radius of gyration about an axis is 0.2m. What is its moment
of inertia? In order to produce angular acceleration of 2rad/s in the wheel. What
magnitude of torque is to be applied?

Given,

M = 5 kg

K = 0.2 m

α = 2 rad s^(-2)

Then, moment of inertia,

I = MK²

I = 5 (0.2)²

I = 0.2 kg m²

And, torque,

τ = Iα

τ = 0.2 × 2

τ = 0.4 N m
